About Us
Enliven Planters is an innovative, subscription gardening service that delivers seasonal arrangements to clients’ homes and businesses four times per year. We are dedicated to making the homes and neighborhoods in Greater Philadelphia more beautiful and enjoyable places to live. If you prefer working outside with your hands and enjoy being challenged creatively, we invite you to join our growing team.
Job Overview
Enliven Planters is seeking one Horticultural Designer to join our seasonal Design team in August, beginning our Fall delivery season. Hours vary throughout the season based on production needs, with the busiest periods occurring during seasonal installations.
In this hands-on and creative role, you will design with live plant material in our outdoor production facility and create seasonal arrangements that will then be installed by our team of Fine Gardeners. Design at Enliven is fast-paced, collaborative, and detail-driven. You’ll work alongside our experienced designers and Lead Designer to learn our standards and aesthetic while responding to new creative scenarios as inventory changes daily.
Because this role supports seasonal production at volume, we are looking for someone who can become independently productive by mid-season.
Designers may also occasionally assist with on-site seasonal stylings or provide support to our gardening team as needed.
What You’ll Do
Design and build seasonal arrangements for planters and window boxes using live plant material
Work efficiently while maintaining quality, consistency, and attention to detail
Follow Enliven’s design standards and apply feedback in real time
Help unload and organize large plant deliveries as inventory arrives
Maintain organized staging areas and a clean, efficient workspace
Monitor plant/material quality during production and report issues to Nursery staff
Occasionally assist with on-site seasonal stylings or gardener field support as needed
What You Bring
A strong eye for design and a willingness to learn Enliven’s seasonal style
Comfort taking direction and working closely with our Lead Designer
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while staying calm and team-focused
Prompt and reliable: timeliness matters in seasonal production
Attention to detail and pride in doing work cleanly and consistently
Ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, including regularly lifting and moving materials weighing up to 50 pounds and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license required
No prior horticultural experience is necessary. We train new hires in our processes and seasonal standards. Preference is given to applicants with backgrounds in design.
Compensation & Benefits
$18/hour starting pay
Generous, performance-based seasonal raises
Healthcare eligibility after 90 days
16 hours paid time off in May, 2 paid weeks off in August
Paid sick leave + tenure-based PTO
A paid day off for your birthday to celebrate you
Wholesale plant orders 3x/year
